Location and Overview:
Dayara Bugyal, situated in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand,
India, is a high-altitude alpine meadow perched at an
elevation of approximately 3,639 meters (11,942 feet).
Renowned for its expansive grasslands and panoramic views
of the Garhwal Himalayas, including peaks like Bandarpoonch,
Kala Nag, and Srikanth, it serves as a popular trekking and
camping destination.
Difficulty Level:
The trek is considered easy to moderate, making it suitable for
beginners and families. The well-defined trails and gradual
ascents provide an enjoyable experience for trekkers of varying
skill levels.
Best Time to Visit:
Dayara Bugyal is accessible year-round, except during the
monsoon season. Winter (December to February): The
meadows are blanketed with snow, transforming the area into
a winter wonderland, suitable for snow activities like skiing.
Duration and Altitude:
The trek typically spans 4 to 6 days, depending on the chosen
itinerary and starting point. Trekkers usually begin from villages
like Barsu or Raithal, ascending to Dayara Bugyal at 3,639
meters (11,942 feet). The total trekking distance ranges from 20
to 30 kilometers, with daily walks of 4 to 7 kilometers.
Scenic Highlights:
Trekkers are rewarded with expansive meadows that seem to
stretch endlessly, offering unobstructed views of towering
Himalayan peaks such as Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, and
Srikanth. The trail winds through dense oak and rhododendron
forests, and during winter, the snow-covered landscape adds a
magical touch to the scenery.
Unique Experiences:
Dayara Bugyal is renowned for its pristine beauty and tranquil
environment. The meadows are meticulously landscaped,
providing a surreal experience for trekkers. The region is also a
birder's paradise, with opportunities to spot Himalayan monals
and other avian species. Camping in the clearings surrounded
by forests offers a serene retreat, and the night skies are
perfect for stargazing.
TREK ITINERARY
Day 1: Dehradun to Natin
The journey begins at 7:00 a.m. from Prince Chowk near Dehradun
Railway Station, with a 185 km road trip to Natin Village via
Chinyalisaur and Uttarkashi. En route, enjoy scenic views along
the Bhagirathi River. Meals during the ride can be purchased at
roadside inns.
On arrival at Natin, a quaint village 40 km from Uttarkashi and the
trek’s starting point, settle into a homestay. After a briefing session
with the trek leader and group, enjoy dinner and rest for the night.
Day 2: Trek from Natin to Gui Campsite
After breakfast, begin a 4 km ascent to the Gui Campsite, an
easy-grade trek through scenic forest patches. Upon arrival, enjoy
a hot lunch at the campsite.
Spend the evening on an acclimatization walk in the surrounding
area, followed by refreshments and snacks. Conclude the day
with dinner and an overnight stay in tents at the campsite.
Day 3: Trek from Gui Campsite to Dayara Bugyal
After breakfast, begin the trek to Dayara Bugyal, a moderate
ascent through oak and rhododendron forests with occasional
level stretches. Enjoy packed lunch and rest at the Dayara
Viewpoint, soaking in the stunning landscapes.
Later, hike back to Gui Campsite from Dayara Top. Upon arrival,
relax with evening refreshments and snacks, followed by dinner
and an overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 4: Trek from Gui Campsite to Natin and Travel to Dehradun
After breakfast, descend 4 km back to Natin Village, retracing the
trail through the forested path. From Natin, embark on a 185 km
drive to Dehradun.
The journey is expected to conclude around 9:30 p.m., allowing
trekkers to plan onward travel accordingly.

Inclusions:
- Stay is included on all days of the trek (Raithal to Raithal ). You will be staying in tents on a tripal sharing basis.
- Transport charges from Rishikesh to Raithal and return.
- All meals from dinner at Raithal on Day 1 to tea and coffee or last day mornning tea are included.
- Meals are simple, nutritious and vegetarian.
- All the trek equipment will be included like a sleeping bag, kitchen & dining tent, utensils, mattress, tent, toilet tent, and crampon (if needed).
