Day 01 :

Make your way to Manali

Arrive at Manali, a well-known tourist hub and high-altitude backpacking center.
Check into your accommodation and settle in.
Meet and get acquainted with fellow trekkers.
Review essential information including mountain safety rules, trek route, terrain, weather conditions, and what to expect during the Yunam Peak trek.

Day 02 :

Manali to Jispa

Wake up and have breakfast.
Start your day by traveling along the Leh-Manali Highway to Jispa.
Pass through Tandi and Keylong.
Cover the remaining 22 kilometers to Jispa in about an hour.
Expect the journey to take around 4 hours.
Explore Jispa’s blend of rolling fields, mud houses, and Buddhist culture mixed with modern infrastructure.
Use the day to acclimatize to the new altitude.
Overnight stay in a local hotel or homestay.

Day 03 :

Jispa to Bharatpur

Experience a day full of adventure and excitement.
Visit two unique lakes, Deepak Tal and Suraj Tal.
Cross the Baralacha La Pass at an altitude of 4,850 meters.
Arrive at Bharatpur, the first campsite of the expedition.
Observe the change in landscape; Bharatpur marks the transition from green to shades of brown and black, signaling your entry into the heart of Lahaul.

Day 04 :

Acclimatisation in Bharatpur

Wake up at a relaxed pace to avoid stressing the body after the first high-altitude night.
Focus on acclimatization due to the significant height gain over the past 2 days and the shift to a new terrain.
The transition from the humid city air through Manali's pleasant temperatures to the drier climate of Lahaul.
Participate in an evening acclimatization walk, gaining 300-400 meters in altitude.
Stay active and spend as much time outside the tent as possible to help the body adapt to the new altitude.
Exposure to the high-altitude air will aid in acclimatization and prepare for the upcoming days.

Day 05 :

Bharatpur to Base Camp

Start the trek after breakfast.
Follow a proper trail leading directly to the base camp.
Traverse moraine-like terrain with rolling rocks, making footing challenging.
Cross a water stream a few times; use narrow sections and stepping stones for easy crossing.
The trek to the base camp will take approximately 4-5 hours.
At the base camp, enjoy panoramic views of the mountain, which appears almost within reach.
Spend the next two days at the base camp studying the mountain, its routes, and its features.

Day 06 :

Acclimatisation at Base Camp

Wake up and have breakfast at base camp.
Go for a short hike to a higher altitude, gaining around 200-300 meters, and then return to base camp.
This helps your body adjust to the altitude.
Return to camp and have lunch.
Spend some time resting and hydrating, allowing your body to recover from the morning's activities.
Spend time studying the mountain, observing potential routes, and identifying key landmarks and features.
Gather for a team briefing to review the acclimatization process, discuss the summit strategy.
Have dinner early and rest well to ensure your body continues to acclimatize effectively.
Spend the night at base camp, preparing mentally and physically for the upcoming summit push.

Day 07 :

Base Camp to summit and back to Base Camp

Wake up at 1 AM, gear up, and have a light breakfast.
Set out for the summit push by 2 AM.
Begin on a flat section of moraines leading to a gully with a 60-degree gradient.
Traverse the snowfield, encountering a continuous 50-degree incline.
Snow conditions can vary, making footing difficult and each step more exhausting compared to rocky terrain.
Arrive at the summit of Mount Yunam, a flat surface offering breathtaking views of endless snow-covered mountains.
Witness a magical sunrise during the ascent.
After summiting, carefully make your way back to base camp, completing an extremely long and rewarding day.

Day 08 :

Base Camp to Bharatpur and Drive to Manali

Begin an easy descent down the rocky slopes from the base camp to Bharatpur.
Enjoy a final farewell to the mountain as you make your way down.
Arrive at Bharatpur, meet your vehicle, which will be waiting to drive you back to Manali.
Expect to reach Manali by early evening.
Plan your onward journey from Manali accordingly.
