The Kedarkantha Trek is a popular winter trek in Uttarakhand, known for its snow-covered trails, dense pine forests, and stunning views of Himalayan peaks. Ideal for beginners, the trek offers a perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty, with a rewarding summit at 12,500 feet. Best experienced between December and April.
Distance: 210 km (approx. 8-9 hours by road)
Altitude: 6,400 feet (Sankri)
Depart from Dehradun in the morning and drive to Sankri, the
base village for the Kedarkantha trek. Enjoy the scenic drive
through the foothills of the Himalayas.
Distance: 3 km (approx. 4-5 hours trek)
Altitude: 8,900 feet (Hargaon)
After breakfast, begin the trek to Hargaon, located near Juda Ka
Talab (a small lake). The trek offers beautiful views of the
surrounding forest and landscape. Hargaon is a peaceful
campsite and offers excellent views of the peaks ahead.
Distance: 3.5 km (approx. 4-5 hours trek)
Altitude: 11,250 feet (Kedarkantha Base Camp)
Trek from Hargaon to Kedarkantha Base Camp, a gradual climb
through dense forests and snow (in winter). This campsite offers
spectacular views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
Distance: 6-7 km (approx. 5-6 hours trek)
Altitude: 12,500 feet (Summit)
Early morning ascent to the summit of Kedarkantha (12,500 feet).
Reach the top and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the
Himalayan peaks, including Swargarohini, Black Peak, and others.
Return to the base camp after summiting. Descend back to
Hargaon
Distance: 3 km (approx. 4-5 hours trek)
Altitude: 6,400 feet (Sankri)
Trek back to Sankri from Hargaon. After reaching Sankri, drive
back to Dehradun in the evening
Inclusions:
